Truck Drivers are responsible for driving company’s commercial vehicles for various purposes. In addition, they must be able to keep a record of vehicle inspections. Truck drivers should be able to plan best routes and meet delivery schedules accordingly. Complying to the rules and regulations is a must. Apart from this they should collect, analyse, and verify delivery as per the given instructions.

Previous experience as a truck driver will be an added advantage. Ability to drive for long hours and travel regularly should be a part of their job as a truck driver. Knowledge to plan and manage distribution is equally important and never violate the traffic rules and regulations. Diploma from a trucking school along with truck driving license are mandatory.

1Q. Explain your driving experience in the job?
The employer wants to know about the range and variety of vehicles driven by the candidate and his experiences with them.

Ans. The candidate talks about his two years of experience in driving a 10-ton petrol truck and one year of experience in driving a 20-ton diesel truck.

2Q. What State & National Highways are you familiar with?
The employer’s intention is to know driver’s knowledge on State and National highways and their inter junctions for long driving hauls.

Ans. The candidate talks about his one year of experience on State Highways and two years of experience on National Highways.

To know the knowledge of the driver on the relevant documents that he should carry during his journey.

Ans. The candidate says that he normally carries a truck registration certificate, Pollution certificate, fitness certificate, insurance certificate, road tax certificate and his heavy-duty driver’s licence along with personal health and accident insurance cards.
